round, 2006/7 European Tournament
Spain picked their squad
today for the under 19 European finals, which will be taking place in Austria
from 14 to 28 July. Some 21 players were called up for pre-tournament training,
although five players from their regular squad (Sunny, Diego Capel,
Adrián González, Adrián López, Mata and Bueno) were
unavailable as they are currently taking part in the Youth World Cup with the
under 20 side in Canada. (25.06.07)

Modrego (Valladolid); Midfielders: Carlos "Carletes" Martínez
(Albacete), Javi Martínez (Athletic Bilbao), Coto, Marc Crosas
(Barcelona), Zamora (Espanyol), Azpilicueta (Osasuna), Mikel Balenciaga (Real
Sociedad), Sergio García (Valladolid); Forwards: Berrocal
(Espanyol), Emilio Nsue (Mallorca), Omar (Sporting Gijón), Aarón
Ñiguez (Valencia).
PS. Oscar Reyes, Balenciaga,
Sergio García and Omar were left out of the final squad, and Real Madrid
midfielder Dani Parejo was drafted in to replace Marc Crosas.
PPS. Espanyol keeper Isaac
Becerra was called up to replace the injured Felipe Ramos for the final.
