Getafe sit proudly on top of their group after beating Anderlecht 2-1 on Wednesday night. Michael Laudrup's side only needed a draw to qualify for the next round, but Pablo Hernández gave them the lead in only the sixth minute with a shot which went in off the boot of Van Damme. The Belgians were not sure of qualifying them selves though, and Théreau and Van Damme both came close to equalising.

But five minutes in to the second half Manu and Pablo combined to set up Celestini to score a spectacular second, and the game appeared to be over. However Mpenza, Goor and De Man all tested Abbondanzieri before Théreau headed one back in injury time, and there were some nervous moments before the final whistle.
