Barcelona came away from Olympique Lyon with a 1-1 draw, a result which gives them a clear advantage for the second leg. Guardiola's side fell behind though in only the seventh minute, Juninho's wide free kick catching Víctor Valdés out of position. Benzema almost made it two with a shot just wide of the far post, but Eto'o could have equalised when he poked a shot against the post at the other end a few minutes later.

The chances continued, Benzema hitting the post himself before the break and Alves testing Lloris with a well struck free kick soon after the restart. The keepr saved a Piqué header soon afterwards, but he could do nothing to stop Henry from heading the equaliser after Márquez headed over Xavi's long corner. A good result for the Catalans, but they still have to win it in the Nou Camp in a fortnight's time.
