Atlético Madrid are out of the Champions League after a 0-0 draw at Porto. The 2-2 draw from the first leg was enough to take the Portuguese side through on the away goal rule, and Abel's team will take no further part despite not having lost a game throughout the competition.

Porto were the better side though, with Lisandro, Meireles, Bruno Alves, Hulk and Lucho all trying their luck in the opening minutes. Simao felt he should have had a penalty when brought down in the area, but Leo Franco had to keep out a fierce shot from Fernando before the interval.

Abel had surprisingly left Diego Forlán on the bench, but he brought him on soon after the restart. However apart from an Agüero header following a corner the visitors hardly troubled Helton, and Leo Franco was called upon again to keep out Cristian Rodríguez and Lucho.

Lisandro almost won it on the night when he rounded the keeper only to shoot against the post from a wide angle, but with Atlético "missing" it didn't really matter. Porto were though, and the Spanish side now have to concentrate in finishing in the top four of the league to have another crack next season.
