Latest Transfers

Normally at this time of year we are still talking about managerial changes, but Real Madrid have single-handedly kick-started the transfer market into gear with two of the biggest signings in the history of Spanish football. At the start of last week returning club president Florentino Pérez did in two days what his predecessor Ramón Calderón had failed to do in over two years, sign Kaká from Milan for €65 million.

But that was overshadowed a couple of days later by the signing of Cristian Ronaldo from Manchester United for an all time record fee of €96 million. Only God knows how is he going to pay for it all (and maybe even the top man hasn't a clue), but with David Villa and who knows who else in their firing lines it seems that we are in for a bumper summer. Forget the transfer market, this could be the catalyst to end the world's economic crisis!?!..... (14.06.09)
