Spain's under 19 side finally got into gear, a 4-0 win over Bulgaria not enough to take them through to the semi-finals after their first two defeats, but at least sufficient to give them third spot in their group and a place in next year's under 20 World Cup.

Aarón Ñiguez got the first early on with a spectacular lob over the head of the keeper from the halfway line, and Emilio N'sue got the second just four minutes later after Fran Mérida put him through.

Emilio headed his second of the day and his side's third from Aquino's cross soon after the restart, and Jordi Alba set up Fran Mérida to complete the scoreline. Spain ended with ten men after Domínguez was sent off for a second bookable offence, but by then it was all over. A good performance at last, but too late to save the champions from the last two years from an early exit.
