Deportivo got their UEFA Cup campaign back on track after their defeat to CSKA Moscow on the opening day, a 3-0 victory over Feyenoord taking them up to third in their group. The Galicians were never in trouble after Lopo put them ahead on the half hour mark, Guardado's first cross blocked but the Mexican winger heading the rebound back across goal for the defender to poke it in to the net from close up.

Aranzubia had to be on his toes to keep out Bruins immediately after the restart, but a couple of minutes later Hofland turned Filipe Luis's cross in to his own net trying to clear. And just a minute later Cristian's pass found Guardado, who steadied himself before curling a shot wide of the keeper.

The Dutch side did have a chance after that, ex Depor striker Roy Makaay (much applauded by the fans) failing to beat the local keeper. But they fell to a third defeat in a row, and if Depor can get a result at Lech Poznan next week they will be more than halfway to a place in the next round.
