Valencia were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Dynamo Kiev on the away goal rule after drawing 2-2 in the Mestalla stadium. Defending a 1-1 draw from the first leg, Unai Emery's side were hopeful of going through. But with just over a quarter of an hour on the clock Kravets battled past two defenders to give the Ukrainian team the lead.

Marchena headed the equaliser though on the stroke of half time from Manuel Fernandes's wide free kick, and when Del Horno poked in a second following another Fernandes free kick early in the second half it seemed that the Spanish side were on their way to qualifying. However Kravets ran on to Correa's pass later in the second half to take Dynamo through to a meeting with fellow countrymen Metalist.
