Spain will at least have one team in the last eight after defending champions Barcelona beat Stuttgart 4-0 on Wednesday night. Leo Messi once again proved the inspiration for Pep Guardiola's side, the Argentinian forward opening the scoring after a brilliant run with just under a quarter of an hour on the clock, and then starting off the move that allowed Toure Yayá to set up Pedro for the second before the break. Messi got his second of the night early in the second half with another dazzling play, and only a couple of saves from Lehmann prevented him from completing his hat-trick. The ex Arsenal goalkeeper also saved from Iniesta later on, but he could do nothing to stop Bojan from latching on to a pass from fellow substitute Ibrahimovic to make it four in the last minute.
