Pre-season fixtures

La Liga sides have returned from their summer break, and all are beginning the long build up to the new season. The focus this week though was in Ireland, where the "New Galacticos" of Real Madrid kicked off against the lowly Shamrock Rovers. Hundreds of cameras were on Cristian Ronaldo, but it was left to another of the new signings Benzema to save their blushes with the only goal in a narrow 0-1 victory.
