Match round-up - Second Division A, Day 4

Betis are back up to second in the table after beating Albacete 1-3 on Sunday evening. Pavone set up Fernando Vega to open the scoring early on, and scored the second himself before the break. Stuani got one back for the locals after the restart, but Pavone scored his second of the match a few minutes later to wrap things up. Recreativo are level with their neighbours though after they won 2-1 against Villarreal B. Carmona gave the Andalusians the lead midway through the second half, and although Marco Rubén headed the equaliser with seven minutes to go, Alvaro Antón struck the winner a minute later.

Las Palmas are up to fourth after a 0-1 victory at Salamanca, Cejudo netting the only goal after Javi Guerrero set him up with a quarter of an hour to go. Hércules are just a point behind the Canary Islanders after they beat Cádiz 1-0 earlier in the day, Farinós converting a penalty twenty minutes from the end after Casilla brought down Delibasic. Real Sociedad drop further behind the leaders though after they could only draw 2-2 with Girona, and that was only thanks to Agirretxe, who equalised twice after Kiko Ratón and then Peragón had scored for the Catalans. Cartagena are the surprise leaders of the second division after a 2-1 victory over Castellón on Saturday evening. All the goals came in the first ten minutes, with Lafuente getting the winner after Dani Pendín had cancelled out a De Lucas opener. Numancia stay in second spot pending Sunday's games despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Murcia, Natalio putting the visitors ahead before Del pino saved a point for the Soría based side. Three teams are level with them on points though, including Rayo Vallecano who beat Real Unión 2-0 with second half goals from Rubén Castro and Aganzo.

Nàstic are also on seven points after they beat Huesca earlier in the evening, Roberto heading the only goal against his old side from José Marí's cross midway through the first half. And Córdoba are level with them after a 1-0 win over struggling Celta, Agus heading the winner from a first half corner. The Galicians drop in to the bottom four together with Real Unión, Castellón and Elche, who threw away a one goal lead to lose 2-1 to neighbours Levante. Igor got the winner from the penalty spot near the end after Javi Guerra had equalised an early Carleto free kick. (19.09.09)
