Real Madrid will be defending their Champions League title in Cardiff after a 4-2 aggregate win over city rivals Atlético in their semi-final tie! For a short while it looked as if Simeone’s side might do the impossible and overturn the three goal deficit from the first leg, Saúl Ñíguez heading in a Koke corner and Griezmann converting a penalty after Fernando Torres was tripped by Varane with only a quarter of an hour on the clock. However with the first half coming to a close Isco scored a vital away goal, the Spanish international midfielder turning the ball past Oblak after the keeper had saved from Kroos following a brilliant run by Benzema. That meant that Atlético had to score three more, and although Keylor Navas had to keep out Carrasco, Gameiro and Griezmann after the break, the result was never really in doubt after that. Madrid’s opponents in the final will be Juventus after they knocked out Monaco on Tuesday evening.
