08.12. Ochoa has followed Vidrio's move and has gone back to his old club Tigres after failing to win a place in the side. Javier Aguirre's idea to strengthen the side with players from his home country has proven to be a failure, although otherwise the team themselves are doing well and Aguirre looks like he will be staying on at the club.

24.11. Ochoa didn't get a game this week again. Vidrio has gone home.

17.11. Vidrio has announced he will be leaving Spain. He himself admitted he was having trouble adapting to the Spanish game, and his old club Pacheca have reached an agreement with Osasuna to take him back with immediate effect. The defender was left out of the weekend game with Valencia, which he watched from the stands.

10.11. Both left out of the starting line up for the cup tie at Eibar. Ochoa came on for the last ten minutes of extra time with the match level at 0-0, and scored one of the penalties in the shoot out as his side qualified for the next round. Vidrio lost his place for the league match at Málaga, and Ochoa came on for the last few minutes with his side a goal down. Not enough time to do anything though.

03.11. Vidrio came back in to the side for the game against Recreativo in place of the injured Josetxo. Osasuna lost though to a suspect penalty, and are now joint bottom of the league.

27.10. Both players were left out of the starting line up at Mallorca, although Ochoa came on as substitute for the last twenty minutes with his side two goals down.

20.10. The league programme resumed after a break in Europe for international games. Aguirre named an unchanged side against Sevilla, so again no place for the two Mexicans.

06.10. After letting in more goals than any other first division side, Aguirre changed three of his back four. Vidrio was one of those who were left out by his fellow countryman, but took the decision philosophically, admitting that the game in Spain was very different from his native Mexico. Neither he nor Ochoa got on the pitch for the game at Barcelona.

29.09. Vidrio has established himself in the centre of defence, and played the full game at home to Real Sociedad. Ochoa was once again non-playing substitute.

22.09. Vidrio played the whole game at Real Madrid, but his performance was not rated highly and he failed to clear the ball when Guti scored the second. Ochoa did not get on the pitch, and with Aloisi returning he will have even more competition from now on.

15.09. Ochoa made his first start of the season in the cup match at Lemona, playing all but the last 20 minutes. Vidrio was rested for that game but returned for the league match against Deportivo, scoring his first goal for the club with an early header. Ochoa came on for the last fifteen minutes after Deportivo had taken the lead.

01.09. Some doubts about whether Vidrio had adapted or not during pre-season, but eventually Aguirre included him in the back three for the opening game at Villarreal. After a shaky start, Osasuna came back to draw 2-2. Ochoa played a few games pre-season, but was not included in the team on day one.

Osasuna's new manager Javier Aguirre wasted no time after giving up his job as Mexico's national coach to bring two of his international players with him to Pamplona. Both men are making their debut in the Spanish league this season, and it will be interesting to see how they adapt. Ochoa is a rising star, bad boy turned good, who spent his early years as an illegal immigrant in the USA before his footballing talents were discovered. Vidrio is a more mature defender who was part of Mexico's World Cup qualifying squad.
