What is wrong with Atletico this year?? At the start of the season they had a great coach in Bianchi and a great squad of players (Torres, Maxi, Galletti, Petrov, Pablo, Kezman, Perea etc.) but half way through the season Bianchi is gone, the goals have dried up and the players are unhappy. Are the problems a lot deeper than we all first thought??

We were debating whether to eliminate "this year" from your heading! For several seasons now they have underperformed, and it is difficult to put a finger on it. Maybe Bianchi was a bad choice in the end, and they have put a couple of decent results under their caretaker coach Pepe Murcia. But it's too late now to save the season, and it looks like being another year without European competitions.
