i dont get it. rijkaard constantly plays oluguer at right back. the man has no dribbling skills, no pace, and no crossing skills. maybe he can defend, but belletti is the man. that man is the def. of a right back. he's so fast and he crosses perfectly. why doesnt rijkaard play him instead of oluguer. also i dont see why rijkaard has 2 rotate between sylvinho and gio. sylvinho is obviously better and his perfomances have been great this season. on the other hand gio is not a left back (remember how joe cole embaressed him last yeah in CL) please answer me.
Rijkaard tends to use Oleguer when he wants a defensive full back, e.g. when the opposition has a nippy left winger. Belletti is a typical Brazilian full back, fine going forward down the flanks but then you have wingers for that job. He feels that Oleguer is a vital part of his plans though, and from the latest get together of the Spanish squad it seems that at least Luis Aragonés agrees with him. Catalan separatist convictions permitting, he could be playing for Spain in the World Cup. As for the Gio / Sylvinho debate, that has been going on for some time, but we did hear somewhere that Barça are looking for a new left back to join in the summer.
