Reading today that Raul is only a month or so away from a return, and should be ready for the WC2006, I feel that this news could hamper Spain's chances in Germany. I don't mean to be disrespectful to him, but his form over the last couple of years has been poor, and if his return causes the likes of David Villa to spend the WC on the bench then it will be a shame. There is too much of a belief that Raul is 'undroppable' and the team will suffer as a result.

We are not so sure. The problem in the past was that he (and many others of the squad) were exhausted after a long season. The break should do him good, and he should just be reaching peak form when the World Cup takes place.
