Second Division - Day Six

Extremadura finally dropped a couple of points after taking 15 from 15, but their draw away at Elche was enough to keep them at the top with 16 points. Salamanca move up to second on 14 points after a 0-1 victory against Recreativo, Loren scoring the only goal after 12 minutes. Las Palmas signed four players from Atlético B in the close season, but none of them could make an impression. Tevenet was injured, Sequieros missed a penalty, Pablo Lago played badly, Ramón didn't play and the game ended 0-0. Las Palmas still move up to third place on 13 points. Salillas scored again for Levante as they beat Getafe 2-0 to go fourth with 11 points, equal with Compostela who drew 2-2 at Osasuna. Ciganda scored twice for Osasuna, including a penalty, and Gudelj (penalty) and Diaz replied for Compostela. Albacete beat Sporting 1-2 to move to equal sixth, level with Recreativo, Osasuna and Badajoz, who surprised Tenerife 0-1 in Santa Cruz. Villarreal were humiliated at home 1-5 by Eibar and drop to 10th equal with 9 points, the same as Sporting and Mérida, who drew 2-2 with Logroñes. Tenerife are 13th on 7 points, then come Logroñes and Eibar on 6. Córdoba (who have just announced that Russia's veteran centre forward Oleg Salenko will be joining them in the near future) drew 1-1 at Leganés and are level with Elche on 5 points. Lleida climbed off the bottom with a good 0-3 victory in Toledo. They now have 4 points, the same as Atlético B, with Toledo dropping to 20th equal with Leganés on 3 points. Getafe are bottom with 2 points.
