Second Division - Day Twenty Two

Salamanca are starting to slip after only drawing against Elche (whose manager Tolo Plaza resigned during the week), and are now only three points clear of Levante, who won 1-0 against Logroñes, with a goal from Israel. Extremadura's bad run of form continues, and they drop to sixth after losing heavily to Atlético Madrid B. Las Palmas came back from behind to beat Island rivals Tenerife with late goals from Tevenet and Sequeros and move up to third place. Wins by Sporting and Badajoz took them to within two points of the promotion spots. Leganés won 0-4 at Mérida to climb out of the relegation spots ahead of Córdoba, who lost in the last minute to Sporting. Manager-less Recreativo drew with Compostela to move further adrift, although bottom club Toledo lost to improving Osasuna, giant killers again in the cup in mid-week.
