And still it goes on. Oviedo recorded their fifth home win in a row to take them up to sixth in the table in one of their best starts to the season ever, despite having only picked up one point in five matches away from home. A crowd of over 20,000 turned up in a convivial atmosphere which included over 600 visiting supporters, with supporters clubs organising events between the two groups before and after the game. Both managers stuck to their winning line ups from last week, with Antic once again naming an unchanged side and Ferraro replacing the suspended Heinze with Santamaría, and preferring Jesús to Richetti in a four man midfield.

The opening minutes were evenly split, with both sides fighting for control of midfield. Amieva went close twice before Oli put the home side in front with his fifth of the season, with Losada's challenge before the goal being questioned by the visiting players. Ciric missed a golden opportunity to equalise before the break, and that was the last chance they had up until near the last ten minutes, when Kaviedes shot over the bar with the goal at his mercy, and Pachón got the consolation goal at the end. In between Oviedo were unstoppable, with Rubén Reyes getting his first goal for the club, and blond-dyed Losada getting a deserved prize for his hard work with his team's third.

Only Bizzarri stopped it from being a massacre, saving shots from Tomic, Lasada and Oli, with the latter also hitting the bar with a header. As the game came to a close, substitute Möller got in on the act with his first of the season. The only downside (apart from the awful conditions of the pitch) was the yellow card shown to Onopko, who will miss Oviedo's next match. Valladolid's mini-revival comes to a halt, and they drop down to fourteenth. At least though they have stopped drawing matches!
