Numancia won themselves a valuable point against Las Palmas, although it was not enough to take them off the bottom of the league table. García Remón made several changes to his side for this vital game, leaving keeper Alvaro Nuñez on the bench and bringing in reserve keeper Raúl for the first time this season and playing with a three man central defence. With club captain Octavio out injured, José Manuel dropped back to wing back, with Rosu being given a start up front after scoring last week. Las Palmas were missing the injured Samways for the second week in a row, and with Edu Alonso returning in defence, the versatile Angel switched to midfield.

With ten defenders on the field there were little scoring opportunities for either side, much of the game being played in the middle of the park. Las Palmas have not had much luck with their new signings, with Oktay and Toddi leaving the club mid-season and Oulare being thrown out recently for disciplinary reasons, and the one replacement signed in the winter Turdó is still looking for his first goal. Even Guayre was quiet as Numancia held fast in defence, and the home side's best chance in the first half came from defender Jarni. Numancia opened the scoring with their only attempt at goal in the first 45 minutes, Rosu beating Nacho González with a well placed header.

Kresic brought on an extra forward, Eloy, at half time, and the veteran striker levelled the scores heading home Jarni's free kick. Jorge missed a golden opportunity to give his side the lead minutes later, but after that there was no way through. Numancia were always dangerous on the counterattack though, and González had to save the day in the last minute from substitute Ojeda. The visitors also thought they should have had a penalty near the end when Josico handled in the area, but referee Llonch Andreu ruled that it was accidental. In the end a point each which takes Las Palmas a little closer to safety and leaves Numancia a step nearer to the second division.
