Last season's second division champions Sevilla came from behind to earn their first point of the season at Zaragoza. After a boring first half the home side took the lead in bizarre circumstances, referee Iturralde González penalising Sevilla's keeper Notario for holding on to the ball for longer than six seconds. The resulting indirect free kick inside the penalty area was tapped to Esquerdinha who blasted it in to the top of the net, the ball appearing to take a deflection off a defender. However Zaragoza made the mistake of sitting back, and ex Zaragoza player Moisés made it all square ten minutes from the end with a shot from outside of the area which Láinez should have stopped. Zaragoza take on Silkeborg in the UEFA cup on Thursday night.
