Goals: None.

The match between Mallorca and Alavés ended goal-less in a match dominated by both goalkeepers. Mallorca were missing the injured Ibagaza, and Bernd Krauss played Miguel Soler on the left of midfield, with Cristian Díaz making his debut at left back. However Soler was uncomfortable out of position, and without the talented Argentinian they were lacking the spark they needed to break down the Alavés defence despite numerous occasions early on.

The visitors had their chances too up until Pablo got himself sent off on the hour mark with a direct red card for something he said to the referee, and after that ex Mallorca keeper Kike demonstrated once again that he is on top form as Manés's team closed ranks. The Vitoria based side move on to seven points and go top of the table pending Sunday's games. Mallorca may move in the transfer market before it closes on Monday evening, with Oviedo's Iván Ania in their sights as cover for Ibagaza, and the unsettled Carlos may move on to Córdoba.
