Osasuna recorded their second victory in a row, defeating Sevilla 1-0 in a match billed as being between two rivals for relegation this season. The only goal of the game came from substitute John Aloisi who headed home Rivero's cross only minutes after coming on in the second half. It was the first this season scored by an Osasuna player, their only other goal coming from Zaragoza's Aguado who put through his own net last week.

Unzué produced a splendid performance in the Osasuna goal against his old side, and Sevilla's Olivera came on as a second half substitute and missed a sitter in the last minute which would have saved them a point. Referee Turienzo Alvarez turned down a penalty appeal from the visitors after Unzué clearly brought down young striker Reyes in the penalty box.
