Osasuna recorded their third 0-1 win in a row, this time against struggling Rayo Vallecano, to move up to tenth in the league. Gregorio Manzano took over for the first time at Rayo after Andoni Goikoetxea was sacked on Sunday, and included the three players who brought about his predecessor's downfall. Lopetegui, Hernández and Luis Cembranos. However his team were a goal down before he had even taken his seat, Armentano scoring with only ten seconds on the clock, one of the fastest goals of all time. Lopetegui saved his side from going further behind, saving from Lekumberri after the break, but Michel almost salvaged a point late in the game with a shot against the post. Rayo still only have one point from six games and are next to bottom, ahead of Real Sociedad on goal average.
