It has taken Osasuna some time to get going after a bad start under new manager Javier Aguirre, but there is no stopping them now as they they clocked up their tenth point in four games with a 1-3 win over local rivals Athletic Bilbao. Referee Muñiz Fernández did give them a helping hand at the start though, ruling that Larrazábal had handled in the area whem Rosado's shot hit him at close range, Aloisi converting the resulting penalty. Urzaiz equalised though two minutes later, back-heading Yeste´s corner past Sanzol.

Muñoz had been given a rare start in place of the injured Pablo García, and he went close before restoring the lead for the visitors on the quarter hour mark with a shot through a crowded goalmouth. Iván Rosado made it three shortly before the break after Lafuente failed to cut out Rivero's cross on a quick counterattack, and the players went off to protest from the local fans. With the game in their favour, the visitors shut up shop in the second half, and despite bringing on Ezquerro and captain Julen Guerrero, Heynckes side could not find the route to goal. Both sides ended the day level in midtable.
