Racing Santander's controversial new president Dmitri Piterman took charge of the squad for the first time, but his team ended up losing 3-1 to Osasuna to drop to within a place of the relegation zone. Piterman was refused a licence to sit in the dugout alongside his right hand man Chuchi Cos, but managed to register himself as a press photographer to be able to pass instructions to his new manager, who lined up with an aggressive 4-2-4 formation.

However Osasuna took advantage of the lack of midfielders, especially down the wings, and the visitors found themselves behind when Iván Rosado struck in the twelfth minute after Rivero laid the ball across the front of goal. Juanma levelled the scores briefly after Sanzol failed to hold on to a Munitis free kick, but Iván Rosado returned the favour to Rivero for him to put Aguirre's side ahead again on the stroke of half time. Alfredo finished things off after the break heading another Rosado cross past Lemmens to take his side above Racing in the table.
