Villarreal moved a little closer to safety after a 0-1 win against Osasuna at a cold Sadar stadium in Pamplona. Ground staff had to clear snow from the ground before the game, and the referee only decided an hour before kick off to carry on. Conditions were difficult though, and players were constantly slipping on a heavy and at times icy pitch. The home side adapted better early on though, and Reina had to save from a Muñoz free kick in the third minute. However Benito Floro's team settled in, and Víctor rattled the post with another free kick midway through the half. A few minutes later the visitors went ahead, Josico finding space to head Víctor's corner wide of Sanzol. Aguirre threw on Morales at the break and a fourth forward Brit a few minutes later, but Reina didn't let anything through and Floro's side move above their rivals, who are now level with Barcelona, only three points above the relegation spots.
