Osasuna had their minds on their cup semi-final against Recreativo, but they were focussed enough to hold Barcelona to a 2-2 draw to halt their rise up the table. Radomir Antic's side were at half strength due to injuries to Puyol, Cocu and Overmars and a round of flu which affected Kluivert, Andersson and Gabri, and the manager only took 16 players to Pamplona, two short of the normal squad. Young B team defender Oleguer came in to the back four, and Dani was given a place alongside Saviola up front. However this is not the Catalan striker's season, and ten minutes before the break he was carried off with a knee injury which could keep him out for another month or so.

The first half was fairly dull, with the locals if anything shading things in their favour. Bonano had to make good saves from Manfredini and Rivero, and Sanzol stopped an effort from Saviola at the other end. Mendieta wasted a good chance immediately after the restart, but made up for it in part with a pass in to Saviola for him to open the scoring on the hour mark. A few minutes later Bonano had to be stretchered off semi-conscious after he collided with Iván Rosado's elbow, the Osasuna players rather unsportingly carrying on play and getting the ball in the net with the keeper lying on the ground. However referee Daudén Ibáñez ruled out Aloisi's strike for offside.

The injury to Bonano meant that Enke came on to make his league debut, but within eight minutes he was beaten when Iván Rosado headed Moha's cross over him into the net. The visitors restored the lead four minutes from the end when Luis Enrique ran on to Riquelme's pass to force a shot into the net off a defender, and Overmars almost wrapped things up with a shot against the post a couple of minutes later. It turned out to be an important miss, and Aguirre's side made it all square for the second time when Rivero scored into an empty net in injury time after Enke could only push out Moha's long shot. Barcelona are still unbeaten under Antic, but they drop a place down the table to ninth at the end of the weekend.
