Sevilla recorded their third win in a row, this time 2-0 over Osasuna, to move to within a point of city rivals Betis and three from the UEFA spots. The visitors were suffering from their midweek cup defeat, and Aguirre rested most of his first choice players, making seven changes to his line up. His side found themselves a man short though when Paqui picked up two yellow cards within the first twenty minutes, and things got worse for them immediately afterwards when Antoñito turned in Fredi's free kick to open the scoring.

Before the first half came to an end Reyes had scored a second from the penalty spot after Moha handled in the area, and the young striker got the ball in the net again after the break only to see it ruled out as Antoñito was standing in an offside position. A few minutes later the visitors had a Morales goal ruled out as well after Notario's clearance bounced off an attacker and fell to him, and Sanzol did well to tip over a Reyes shot later on.
