Osasuna sink to seventeenth spot, just ahead of the relegation places on goal difference, after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Mallorca. It was as they say a game of two halves, with Mallorca on top in the first period, even though the best chance fell to Iván Rosado whose shot was saved by Leo Franco. The Pamplona side controlled the game after the break though, with referee Puentes Leira turning down a penalty appeal when Cortés appeared to handle in the area, and Alfredo missed the sitter of the season when he took the ball round the keeper and then stumbled when all he had to do was score into the empty net from a yard out. This was the first time that Mallorca had not a let a goal in the league since their clash with Aguirre's side nineteen games ago, and the result keeps them three points above their opponents in twelfth place.
