Osasuna were close to taking revenge on Recreativo for their elimination from the cup at the semi-final stage, but an impressive late goal from Pernía made it 1-1 to save a point for the bottom club. The Andalucians had had the better of the first half, with Xisco a constant danger and Viqueira hitting the crossbar with a venomous free kick. However Aloisi put the visitors in front early in the second half after Alfredo had played on Manfredini's cross, and Rosado almost beat Luque with a header from close range soon afterwards.

Lucas Alcaraz made three changes and Bermejo and Arpón went close, but when referee Pérez Burrull turned down a penalty appeal after Cruchaga brought down Xisco, Alcaraz's heated protest earned him a second yellow card and a trip to the stands. Pernía's equaliser calmed down the crowd, and Xisco almost won it for the home side when he hit the post in the seventh minute of injury time. Recreativo had extended their unbeaten run to five games, but the point left them still five points away from safety. Osasuna stay a point above the drop zone, another small step taken towards their survival for another season at the top flight.
