0-2. 50. Mido. Controlled pass on left of area and volleyed high into roof of net.

Two goals from new signing Mido gave Celta a 0-2 win at Osasuna, taking them above Valencia into the fourth Champions League place. Miguel Angel Lotina was returning to his old hunting ground, and he saw his new team take the lead on the quarter hour mark, somewhat against the run of play, when Mido picked up a pass from Edu and fired a shot wide of Sanzol. The home side could have equalised though when Iván Rosado tested Cavallero, and just before the break the striker did get the ball in the net after knocking it on past Cavallero with his upper arm, only to see Megia Dávila rule it out for handball.

Five minutes after the restart though Celta's Egyptian striker was there again to collect a long free kick from Mostovoi and volley a spectacular shot into the roof of the net. Osasuna did their best, with Valdo and Gancedo hitting the side netting and Cavallero saving well from Antonio López and substitute Morales, no doubt impressing the watching premier league scouts. But the Pamplona based side had crashed to their fourth defeat in a row, and only defeats by Alavés and Recreativo keep them out of the relegation zone.
