Málaga moved up into sixth spot after they drew 2-2 with Racing Santander, and they are now in line for a return to the UEFA cup next season. All four goals came in the second half, the first coming after a mistake from local keeper Contreras. The Spanish international keeper had just set a new club record of 503 minutes without letting in a goal when he backed into the post trying to catch a slow lob from the left, dropping the ball at the feet of Javi Guerrero who only had to play it in to the empty net. Two minutes later though Málaga had equalised, Dely Valdés celebrating his new Spanish passport poking a loose ball into the net. Eleven minutes later he added a second, following up after Lemmens had blocked his first effort, but substitute Regueiro made it all square near the end after Mateo headed a long pass into his path. Racing's point keeps them in thirteenth place, four points above the relegation spots.
