Recreativo and Mallorca played out a rehearsal of this month's cup final, with the honours shared in a 1-1 draw. With nothing at stake in the league though, both sides lined up with many changes, Lucas Alcaraz giving a run out to six of his reserve players in his last home game in charge before leaving the club, and Manzano resting six of his first choice players. Eto'o was in the starting line up though, making his last league appearance before going on to play for Cameroon in the Confederations Cup, and he won and converted a fifth minute penalty after Espinola tripped him in the area. But half time substitute Joaozinho made it all square only a minute after coming on with a mistimed overhead kick which wrong-footed Miki. Recre were left with ten men midway through the second half when Loren was booked for the second time in the game, and Eto'o almost won it near the end with a shot which rocketed back off the crossbar with César beaten.
