Five goals at the Sardinero stadium, where Osasuna beat Racing Santander 2-3 to take a surprising eleventh spot in the table. After a relaxed start, Muñoz put Aguirre's side ahead after cutting in past debutant right back Icham in the twentieth minute. Javi Guerrero made it all square a few minutes later after good work by Benayoun and Bodipo, but young striker Brit headed the visitors back in front from Rivero's cross before the break.

John Aloisi came in the second half for Brit to put the Pamplona based side further ahead after third choice keeper Borja couldn't hold on to Muñoz's shot, but Guerrero scored his second of the night at the end to set up a tight finish. Racing announced afterwards that they would be applying for the Intertoto Cup spot left free after Barcelona qualified for the UEFA cup, and club president Dmitri Piterman will be calling back some of his lesser used players from their holidays to take part in the first match in early July.
