Celta continued their slide down the table after losing 2-1 at Málaga, and they ended the weekend down in fourteenth place. The Galicians appear to be suffering already from their intense programme, and after their midweek draw against AC Milan in the Champions League they were missing midfield general Mostovoi.

The locals were looking for their second win in a row, and after Duda put Cavallero to the test, the Portuguese midfielder found Fernando Sanz with a corner for him to tap in on the far post. And Litos should have increased the lead later in the half from another Duda corner, but he put his header wide with the goal at his mercy.

The visitors improved though in the second half, and Arnau saved an effort from Gustavo López at the second attempt. A few minutes later Milosevic headed the equaliser from Jesuli's long free kick, and Celta seemed to be back in the game. But only four minutes later Miguel Angel ran on to Gerardo's through ball to restore the lead and give his side the victory.
