Osasuna's run of four home wins in a row finally came to an end after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Valladolid, and after six weeks in fourth position they finally drop out of the Champions' League places. Although the locals had the better of the opening play, Fernando Vázquez's side were dangerous on the breakaway, with Sousa and Fernando Sales returning to the team to give them more punch. Sousa it was who shot just over the bar midway through the first half, and the ex Real Madrid midfielder found Sales with a long pass for him to beat Sanzol from right of goal.

Both sides were reduced to ten men though three minutes beofre the break when Moha and Jesús were sent off by referee Téllez Sánchez, the visitor perhaps the less lucky of the two after he was on the receiving end of a head butt after kicking out at his opponent. Before the half time whistle Osasuna equalised, Valdo getting on the end of Izquierdo's cross to head into the roof of the net.

After the break the Pamplona based side came forward looking for the winner, and Bakayoko shot just wide of goal. Bizzarri stopped another effort from Valdo soon afterwards, and then produced the save of the night from a Pablo García free kick. Valladolid were happy to settle for a point though which extended their unbeaten run to four games, and Vázquez brought on fifth defender to close the game down. Even so Oscar could have won it for them in injury time when he shot into the side netting. The manager wasn't there to see it though, as he was shown a red card by the referee for making insulting comments two minutes earlier.
