Zaragoza and Atlético Madrid played out a dull 0-0 draw on Saturday night, a result which did little to further the ambitions of either side. Only a couple of shots from local midfielder Ponzio tested Juanma in the visiting goal, and with Ibagaza gone AWOL, it was left to Paunovic to try his luck against Milito and Alvaro, currently rated as one of the best defensive pairings in the league. Fernando Torres was a lonely figure up front for Gregorio Manzano's side, and if it were not for a good display from Sergi down the left flank, the fans could be forgiven for thinking that both teamss were back in the second division that they so recently left. The point did take Atlético up to fourth spot for 24 hours though before Sunday's games were played, and kept Paco Flores's side away from the relegation zone for now.
