Osasuna moved back to within two points of sixth placed Atlético with a 0-1 win over bottom club Real Murcia, only their second win in eleven games. Local manager John Toshack was missing the injured Michel and the suspended Hurtado, but his team looked good early on, with David Karanka going close with a couple of headers. But the visitors took the lead on the half hour mark when Webó nipped in to beat Bonano after the keeper could only push out a long shot from Muñoz. The goal took the wind out of the sails of the hosts, and Osasuna tried to take advantage, with Aloisi hitting the bar and Webó bringing a good save out of the keeper before the break.

A few minutes after the restart, referee Iturralde González gave a hotly disputed penalty to the visitors after Varela handled in the area. Aloisi stroked the ball into the net past Bonano from the spot, but the referee made him take it again and this time the keeper managed to push it away. It didn't make much difference to the result though, the Navarrans rallying round keeper Sanzol and holding on to the end. Murcia appear to be already doomed to relegation, now seven points adrift of the team above them at the foot of the table.
