1-0. 42. Benjamín. Curled free kick over defensive wall into top corner of net.
1-1. 45. Aloisi. Curled ball into net after series of shots blocked by defence.

Either Betis or Osasuna could have moved up into the UEFA cup spots had they won their match, but in the end they had to settle for a 1-1 draw which keeps them both in contention. The goals came in a five minute period before the interval, Benjamín starting things off with a glorious free kick from the left of the area which left Sanzol looking on helplessly. Aloisi made it all square though soon afterwards after a prolonged attack, the Australian striker finally curling the ball past Prats after two or three earlier shots were blocked.

Betis had already tested Sanzol early on when Alfonso and Ito went close, and Valdo cleared another effort from the striker off the line after the restart. Prats made important saves from Aloisi and Valdo though as the visitors also had their chances, but the game gradually petered out, and the only point of interest for the fans came when Víctor Fernández substituted Joaquín, a rare fact indeed and unpopular with the crowd. Osasuna stay two points ahead of their opponents in seventh place, now only a point behind the UEFA spots.
