Málaga had a chance to move into contention for a place in the top six had they beaten Albacete, but they failed to take advantage and ended up drawing 1-1. Conditions at the Rosaleda stadium were almost as bad as at Betis, where the match was abandoned without play, but both teams decided to go ahead anyway. The wet pitch caused problems though, and the visitors opened the scoring when Arnau failed to hold on to a slippery ball following Alvaro's free kick, allowing Fabiano to shoot into an empty net.

Duda could have levelled the scores later in the half but his shot went just wide. Juande Ramos added more fire power after the break as the rain intensified, but it was not until ten minutes from the end that Diego Alonso picked up a pass from Salva to save a point. And Alvaro could even have won it for the visitors had he not shot way over the bar when presented with a late chance. Albacete were happy with the point though, and they move closer to safety having only lost one of their last seven games.
