Albacete are looking set for another season in the top flight after a 3-1 win over Zaragoza, who themselves are now only two points above the bottom three as a result. Aranda opened the scoring for the locals with only two minutes on the clock after Pablo set him up, and César Ferrando's side dominated the first half completely. Aranda could have scored a second immediately after the restart, and a few minutes later Pacheco steered a long header past Lainez from Munteanu's cross to put the game beyond Zaragoza's reach.

The only attempt on target from the visitors up to that point was an effort from Savio which Almunia dealt with comfortably, but eventually they did beat the keeper when Rebosio's speculative long shot skidded along the wet pitch and in to the corner of the net. But Víctor Muñoz's defence failed again six minutes later when they allowed Mikel space to score a third goal. With matches against Osasuna, Atlético and Barcelona to come Zaragoza are by no means sure of staying up, and on this performance they will have to improve to do so.
