Sevilla got off to a good start with a 1-0 victory over Albacete, new boy Renato coming on at half time and scoring the only goal just three minutes after making his debut with a spectacular shot. The visitors put up a good fight though, especially with youngsters Rubén and Momo on the park, and it was only when veteran midfielder Viaud was sent off for a second bookable offence with five minutes to go that their challenge came to an end.
