Levante's good home form continued, and they recorded their third win of the season in the Ciudad de Valencia stadium against a Mallorca side who ended the weekend at the foot of the table. Suspended manager Bernd Schuster watched from the stands as the referee turned down a possible penalty on Sergio García early on, and Mora made a spectacular save from Luis García at the other end.

Once again though it was Ettien who made the difference, the Ivory Coast winger producing a "cow's tail" dribble (made famous by Romario) to sweep past the defence and set up Manchev for him to react quickly and force the ball home. And ten minutes later Ettien found Sergio García for him to make himself space and shoot across his under 21 team mate Moyà for the second.

Farinós had caused some problems for Moya in between with a shot which almost ballooned in off a defender, but Moyà had to be at his best to keep out Manchev, Ettien and Sergio García either side of half time. Both sides had chances after that as the game swung from end to end, but in the end it was another victory for Levante, leaving visiting manager Benito Floro under pressure to produce a result against Villarreal in a fortnight's time if he is to hold on to his job.
