Málaga moved up five places in the table to fourth after beating Osasuna 2-0. The South coast side controlled the game from the beginning, and took the lead midway through the first half when Leko sent Amoroso away for him to beat Sanzol with a shot in off the far post from wide on the right.

For a few minutes either side of half time the visitors came back, and Calatayud made important saves from a Pablo García free kick, and from headers by twin strikers Milosevic and Aloisi. But Wanchope wrapped things up with an individualist goal, winning the ball in midfield and beating a couple of defenders before poking the ball wide of the keeper.

By then visiting manager Javier Aguirre was sitting in the stands after getting himself sent off for insulting a linesman and then the referee, but his side were not on target for once. Milosevic put another good chance wide and Aloisi had another shot saved by the keeper, and Amoroso could have made it three for the locals if he had not had his strike ruled out for offside.
