Barcelona held on to their five point lead at the top of the table with a comfortable 3-0 win over Osasuna. Frank Rijkaard's side were looking to bounce back after their first defeat of the season in Milan midweek, although the manager could once again only count on 13 fit players from his first team squad. On the other bench (or rather in the stands thanks to a two match ban) Javier Aguirre was missing his top striker Milosevic, and neither side was able to conjure many chances in the first half hour or so.

By half time though Barcelona were two goals up, Ronaldinho setting up Eto'o for him to fire a shot on the turn past Sanzol, and then scoring himself from the penalty spot after Puñal barged him over four minutes later. After that things died down, and it was not until the second minute of injury time that Eto'o wrapped things up, picking up a loose ball from Inesta to get his second of the night and his seventh in the league, making him La Liga's current top scorer.
