Numancia stay in last place after losing 0-2 at home to Real Sociedad, their fourth defeat in the league in a row. The Soria based side were lucky not to be behind at the break, Kovacevic having a goal disallowed for a non existent offside, Rossato shooting just wide and Juanma (making his debut in goal) saving from Karpin.

The hosts didn't have a shot at goal until the second half when Miguel Pérez went close, and Rossato could have scored at the other end had Juanma not tipped his free kick onto the crossbar.

Real took the lead though when Labaka finished off after a period of pressure in the local goalmouth, Nihat finally laying the ball across for the defender to tap in near to goal, but Lee Chun Soo almost equalised soon afterwards against the club that pays part of his payroll when he crashed a free kick against the bar.

Riesgo kept out a Palacios header a few minutes later, but the visitors wrapped things up when substitute Arteta worked a quick passing move with Nihat for him to set up Karpin for a second goal.
