Levante drop out of the European spots on goal difference though after losing 1-2 at home to Betis. The Valencia based side got off to a good start, with Manchev shooting just wide in the early moments of the game, and Rivera put them ahead from the penalty spot in only the fifth minute after Sergio García was tripped in the area. But the visitors equalised later in the first half when referee Velasco Carballo ruled that Oliveira was pulled down in the area by Manchev, the Brazilian striker converting the resulting penalty himself once the local protests died down.

Up to that point the game had been quite open, but Betis pulled back behind the ball to defend after the restart. The Valencia based side took advantage to push forward, and Manchev brought a good save out of Doblas. But with a draw on the cards, Capi sent Edu away for him to shoot under Mora and score the winning goal for the visitors, taking his side's unbeaten run in the league to nine matches.
