Albacete recovered in part from their thrashing by Real Madrid last week, picking up another point in a 1-1 draw with Getafe. It was a controversial game though, with referee Fernández Borbalán sending off two local players and their manager, turning down a penalty appeal and disallowing a goal by the home side.

The visitors started strongly, with a deflected Gabi free kick almost catching out Gaspercic and Riki heading over the bar from close up. Rubén Castro got the ball in the net at the other end after Momo set him up, but saw his effort ruled out for a non existent offside, and close to half time Pacheco was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Albacete fought back with ten men though, and they took the lead five minutes after the restart when Buades turned Redondo's corner past Sergio Sánchez. However Gaspar followed Pacheco into the changing rooms later on, also for a second yellow card, and local manager José González was also shown a red card after racing on to the pitch to protest in the most vociferous terms.

Getafe pushed forward after that looking for the winner, and Gaspercic had to be at his best to get a hand to an effort from Yanguas. But he was eventually beaten five minutes from the end by a magnificent shot from Gabi from outside of the area after the defence only partly cleared a corner. And Yordi could have won it for the Madrid based side if he had been able to find the target in the last minute. The draw means that the visitors stay two points above their opponents, who are still third from bottom in the table.
