An extraordinary match at the San Moix stadium, where Mallorca came back against Numancia with three late goals to win their first game at home since the middle of May. The two sides were occupying the last two spots in the table, but it was the visitors who came out on top early on, Ramis heading off the line from Moreno with Westerveld beaten. A few minutes later the Dutch keeper was caught off his line by a 40 metre shot from Tevenet, only the second away goal the Soria based side had scored all season.

Mallorca did their best come back, Luis García having a penalty appeal turned down and Delibasic heading just wide of the post before the break, and failing to find the target with a lob when free on goal immediately after the restart. But the visitors went further ahead on the hour mark when Juan Carlos Moreno crashed in a long shot off the crossbar, referee Iturralde González correctly spotting that the ball had crossed the line before bouncing back out.

Visiting keeper Juanma was in action soon afterwards, turning two efforts from Luis García away around the post. But the locals pulled one back ten minutes from the end when Delibasic ran through to head in a corner on the near post, and just two minutes later they were level when Luis García turned the ball past the keeper after another corner was headed on. And the crowd went wild just four minutes later when Luis García picked up a ball in the area and struck a shot on the turn which flew past Juanma into the net. Héctor Cúper had got the win they so desperately needed, and his side moved off the bottom of the table to the detriment of their opponents as a result.
